Development of Fluorescent Chemosensors for Amino‐Sugars

In this account, we describe the application of a series multidentate BINOL-based phosphoric acids for fluorescence-based chemosensing amino sugars. To end, developed novel synthetic protocol three isomerically pure acid monoesters type ArOP(O)(OH)2. These were investigated with respect to their binding towards sugars (glucosamine, galactosamine and mannosamine) in comparison previously reported diesters (ArO)2P(O)(OH). We could find that show no significant binding, while can be used as hosts Indeed, one host selectively binds galactosamine, second both glucosamine mannosamine. This allows detection discrimination by class phosphate-based supramolecular hosts.
